In his speech, Yadav underscored the increasing importance of India’s audiovisual industry globally and stressed the crucial part that media can play in showcasing regional talents and narratives from the Northeast, according to a statement.

delivered the main speech at the conference. She expanded on the WAVES Summit and its different components, giving an outline of the event’s goals, format, and global reach. Additionally, she informed the reporters about the comprehensive timetable of the summit along with the chances it offers for content developers, filmmakers, and cultural envoys nationwide.

This is an industry-driven event backed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, designed to be a worldwide stage for the merging sectors within the audio-visual field such as cinema, TV, streaming services, cartoons, video games, and advanced tech like virtual reality. The summit’s objective is positioning India as a leading hub for content creation with ambitions to export more globally by boosting the international presence of Indian media,” stated the announcement.

Addressing those present, Dipankar Gogoi from the CBFC pointed out that many artists from Northeast India will be participating in the forthcoming summit. He emphasized that incorporating regional perspectives is crucial for developing a more comprehensive and reflective national cultural story.

The inaugural World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES), designed for professionals in the Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry, will take place in Mumbai, Maharashtra, under the auspices of the Indian government from May 1 to 4. (ANI)
