Thailand’s Industrial Estate Authority Readies ‘Service-Oriented Industrial Estates’

The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) is currently undertaking a feasibility study for establishing a “service industrial estate” in Chon Buri as part of the government’s initiative to develop an entertainment hub.

Sumet Thangprasert, who is serving as the acting governor of the IEAT, stated that they are adhering to the government’s plan to develop a zone for an entertainment hub within the Eastern Economic Corridor.

The serviced industrial zone will cover 2,000 rai of terrain, including facilities such as a hotel, spa services, a shopping center, an amusement park, and living quarters.

He mentioned that the suggested estate would be situated within a newly established economic zone.

Mr. Sumet stated, “This will be an entirely new location where families have the opportunity to engage in various activities and enjoy quality family time.”

The service industrial zone will boost consumer expenditure, aiding in contributing to economic growth.

Should the government opt to utilize the IEAT’s property for an amusement park within a newly established economic area, the development would proceed according to the regulations set forth in the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand Act, as stated by him.

Recently, a dedicated committee has been established to oversee the development of an entertainment complex. The site for this project will most probably be situated in one of Thailand’s popular travel destinations like Bangkok, Chon Buri, Chiang Mai, or Phuket.

The IEAT’s efforts on developing an industrial estate for services are anticipated to assist the authority in boosting investments in Thailand.

According to media reports, the government has established an objective for the investment value within the nation to account for 27% of the GDP by 2026.

Mr. Sumet stated that the IEAT is ready to offer 23,662.45 rai of land for sale to potential overseas investors who aim to grow their business operations or move their manufacturing units to Thailand as a strategy to circumvent the effects of the ongoing trade war.

The authorities likewise declared the conclusion of the development at Smart Park Industrial Estate towards the end of last year. This estate encompasses 1,383 rai of terrain located in Map Ta Phut within Rayong province, poised to cater to investments in key sectors.
