, and will perform classics such as “We’ll Meet Again” for the 5,000 attendees.

Jenkins expressed her enthusiasm about participating, stating to the Mail, “Given my profound love and support for our veterans, marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day goes beyond honoring history—it’s about recalling the remarkable bravery, sacrifices, and solidarity that have forged the world as we recognize it today.”

‘The appreciation we hold for those heroes from years past should never diminish; instead, we honor their heritage, which motivates us to uphold values of peace, resilience, and communal fortitude.’

The hosts will welcome several renowned personalities, among them astronaut Tim Peake, who will share insights into his military background following his service with the British Army Air Corps post-Sandhurst graduation.

Peake stated: ” VE Day is an occasion to halt and ponder the incredible bravery and self-sacrifice of those who battled for our liberty.”

It’s an honor to participate in VE Day 80: The Party, where I will have the chance to discuss the crucial role played by the Glider Pilot Regiment during the war efforts.

Having been a member of the Army Air Corps, I maintain a strong bond with the military community and hold immense respect for organizations such as SSAFA, which persistently offer essential support to veterans, active service members, and their families.

Harry Clark, who won BBC’s Traitors and previously served as a lance corporal in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, will act as the ‘roaming correspondent,’ assisting in sharing lesser-known individual stories of VE Day directly from viewers.

Clark stated he was completely eager to participate as soon as he learned about the event.

He stated to the Mail, ” VE Day is an enormous celebration as it honors what we call the greatest generation.”

The minimum we should do as a community is acknowledge their true selves, express our gratitude to them, and it will surely turn into an enormous celebration.

‘I feel immensely proud when I talk to those who’ve experienced this and didn’t complain but instead moved forward.’

I’ve structured my life with the aim of becoming a better individual, and I consistently view them as an inspiration.

‘I’m really excited about talking to them during the event at the Royal Albert Hall, where I simply cannot wait to be, and collecting some fantastic stories and memories from them.’

The RAF Squadronaires, belonging to The Central Band of the Royal Air Force, will transport the audience back in time with their renditions of popular tunes from the 1940s.

The venue of The Hall will be converted into a dance floor, supported by M&S, featuring a show from Strictly celebrity Nadiya Bychkova alongside her professional partner James Cutler.

Randolph Churchill plans to share some of his great-grandfather’s remarks, former wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s, with attendees. Additionally, Dame Vera Lynn’s daughter, Virginia Lewis-Jones, is expected to attend the event.

The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will present the country’s most cherished classical pieces, accompanied by featured singers.

The ensemble known as The D Day Darlings will perform a selection of wartime classics for the crowd, featuring hits like (There’ll Be Bluebirds Over) The White Cliffs Of Dover.

The event, set to air on Classic FM at 8 pm, is hosted by SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, and supported by the Daily Mail.

The national chairman of SSAFA, Sir Simon Bollom – who enjoyed an illustrious tenure in the RAF – commented, “We are all immensely delighted with the participation of celebrities from theater, cinema, and even outer space for the VE-Day 80 celebrations: The Party at the Royal Albert Hall on May 8.”

Yet, even as we rightfully revel in tonight’s festivities, we should also cast our minds back 80 years to the immense joy experienced by countless families—families aided both then and now by SSAFA—who found solace with the declaration of Europe’s war coming to an end.

It had been an arduous six-year conflict, with another three grueling months stretching ahead in the Far East.

We can revel in and appreciate not only this incredible night of entertainment and introspection but also the valuable liberties we enjoy today thanks to the sacrifices of The Greatest Generation.

We honor their memory and also recall the tens of thousands of current service members and veterans whose families have been assisted by SSAFA today thanks to the generosity and kindness of the British people.
